English Tutors Online operates as an independent curated teachers’ marketplace capped at a maximum of 100 teachers to ensure quality, clarity, and a manageable choice for students.

All teachers are known to other teachers, recommended and have proven professional experience.

• All lessons are delivered online via video conferencing.
• Teachers operate as independent service providers, not employees of English Tutors Online.
• Lesson content, teaching methods, availability, and delivery are the responsibility of the individual teacher.

English Tutors Online provides:

• The marketplace platform
• Teacher listings
• A shared pricing and policy framework
• A contact point for serious issues or concerns

English Tutors Online does not directly provide teaching services.

Payment & Fees

• English Tutors Online sets a shared marketplace pricing structure.
• Teachers may choose whether to offer single lessons or packages.
• No teacher may charge more than the prices listed on the platform.
• Payment is made directly between the teacher and the student using their agreed method.

Teaching arrangements such as lesson frequency, package size, or informal sessions are a private matter between the teacher and the student.

If a student is asked to pay more than the listed prices, or feels uncomfortable with a payment request, they should contact us immediately.

English Tutors Online may take action if marketplace pricing rules are not followed.

Lesson Scheduling

• All lessons offered through English Tutors Online are 30 minutes in duration.
• Lesson times and frequency are agreed directly between the teacher and the student.
• Any changes, cancellations, or rescheduling must be communicated directly with the teacher.
• English Tutors Online does not manage lesson bookings, cancellations, payments, or refunds.

English Tutors Online will not respond to emails or messages regarding late attendance, missed lessons, or routine scheduling matters between teachers and students.

English Tutors Online will only review contact where there are serious or repeated issues relating to teacher conduct, non-delivery of lessons, or breaches of marketplace standards.

English Tutors Online is not financially liable for disputes, missed lessons, cancellations, or refunds arising from agreements made directly between teachers and students.

Code of Conduct

English Tutors Online sets conduct standards to protect the integrity of the marketplace.

Teachers

Teachers listed on the platform must:

• Act professionally and respectfully toward students at all times.
• Provide lessons as agreed and communicate clearly with students.
• Comply with marketplace pricing rules and shared standards.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries and professional conduct during lessons.

Students

Students are expected to:

• Treat teachers with respect.
• Behave appropriately during lessons.
• Communicate directly with teachers regarding scheduling and attendance.

All teachers within the network may be informed of repeated or serious breaches of student conduct.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following will not be tolerated:

• Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour.
• Inappropriate language or conduct.
• Attempts by teachers to bypass marketplace pricing rules.

Attendance, missed lessons, and lesson forfeiture are private matters agreed between teachers and students and are not managed by English Tutors Online.

If a teacher repeatedly fails to attend lessons as agreed or does not provide lessons without reasonable explanation, this should be reported to English Tutors Online.

English Tutors Online reserves the right to remove teachers from the platform who do not comply with these standards.

Termination

• Teachers may request removal from the English Tutors Online platform at any time.
• English Tutors Online reserves the right to remove a teacher from the platform if marketplace standards, pricing rules, or conduct requirements are not followed.
• Removal from the platform ends the teacher’s listing and access to the marketplace.
• Termination does not affect any private arrangements or agreements already made between teachers and students.
• English Tutors Online is not responsible for refunds, compensation, or unresolved matters arising from private teacher–student agreements following termination.

Governing Law

• Agreements are governed by the laws of the teacher’s country of residence.
